India Post GDS Selection Process
India Post releases a merit list based on the marks obtained by the candidates in their 10th class secondary school examination to shortlist the candidates for the post of GDS, BPM (Branch Post Master), and ABPM (Assistant Branch Post Master). If candidates have got their marks in the form of grades or marks then their grades will be converted into marks using a multiplication factor of 9.5. GDS Result is made on the basis of marks obtained by the candidates in 10th class examination. The marks are converted into a merit list, and candidates are selected according to their merit.
Preparation of GDS Result involves following steps:
- The marks obtained by the candidates in the 10th class examination are converted into the merit list. This is done by multiplying the scores by a factor of 9.5.
The merit list is prepared in decreasing order of marks. - The number of vacancies available for GDS posts is divided by the number of candidates in the merit list. It gives the cut-off marks for GDS exam.
- Candidates who have scored more than the cut-off marks are declared qualified for GDS posts.
