Users are now going to get a different experience in the Gmail app. Gmail has released a new feature that lets users perform customized actions by swiping left or right. This has been seen with the latest update version 8.5.20. Where earlier Gmail users had to perform actions by default, now they will get the facility of left and right swipe.

This development is the first Android police Has seen and claimed that it has come with the latest update. It started rolling out on May 30. For swipe, the user has to go to Settings – General – Swipe. In the menu, users will be able to choose the options of Archive, Delete, Mark as Read/Unread, Move to and Snooze. Users can also deactivate the swipe action. Once done, this action will be applied to all the apps.

Although Gmail does not mention it separately for Android users, some bugs have been fixed in the upgrade and it comes with improvements. In April this year, Gmail had announced a major update, which also included the design. This change has come to light after 5 years. The updated app will provide the facility of email shortcut, smart reply, nudge for reply. Additionally, users will be able to take advantage of confidential mode and native offline mode. After the announcement, there is talk of it reaching all users in the month of July.
