Twitter’s disabled worker takes the company to court over ban on remote work

A disabled worker of the company has filed a lawsuit against the new owner of micro blogging site Twitter, Elon Musk, for banning his staff from working from home or remote location and putting in more hours in the job. The case, filed on behalf of a disabled worker at Twitter, says that the company’s workers with disabilities have been forced to resign because they cannot meet Musk’s productivity standards.

It is legal in the court of San Francisco in America. Case Engineering manager Dmitry Borodaenko, who filed the filing, has said that Twitter has fired him from the company for refusing to report to the office. Borodaenko says that Musk’s order to call Twitter workers to office or resign is a violation of the federal Americans with Disabilities Act. Under this Act, there is a provision to give appropriate relaxation to disabled workers. Borodaenko has said in his complaint that he is at risk of getting corona due to his disability. In another case filed in the same court, Twitter has been accused of firing thousands of contract workers from the company without giving them the 60 days’ notice required under federal law.

Questions sent to Twitter regarding this have not received any response. Musk says that the workers removed from the company are being given three months’ severance pay. Since purchasing Twitter, Elon Musk has been making major changes in the company. Musk has given a new message to Twitter staff. He has asked the workers to decide whether they want to work more hours in the company or resign with three months’ severance pay.
