WhatsApp on Tuesday released new group features, which are claimed to provide more convenience to users than before. Both Android and iPhone users can take advantage of this latest version. Most of these features have been seen on Android beta build, stable build and other platforms. These include features like group description, new controls and more rights to WhatsApp admins than before. These features will be activated in new and existing groups of WhatsApp.
In the new feature, group creators can now add a description. You can also give permission to other members also. You can also stop some members or all members from giving description. Talking about other features, the group administrator will have the right to decide who can change the subject and icon of the group and who cannot. The group administrator can also remove the admin permissions given to others.
It will be impossible to remove the group creator from the concerned group. Apart from this, WhatsApp users will now get ‘Mention’ feature. This has also been called ‘group catch up’. In this, users can search the messages in which they have been mentioned. For this the user has to tap the @ button, which will be found on the bottom right side of the chatbox.
Not only this, WhatsApp users will now be able to search group members by going to the group info section. Facebook-owned WhatsApp has announced that it has made it a little more difficult for people who leave a group to rejoin the group.
