New feature in WhatsApp Payment, now you can send money like this also

UPI based WhatsApp payment platform has already launched in India. Now users will be able to directly enjoy the Send to UPI ID feature. That is, now it has become possible to make payment through UPI ID without going to personal/group chat. The new feature can be adopted by going to WhatsApp app – Settings – Payment – Send Payment – Send to UPI ID (at the top of the contact list).

In this you enter UPID, then transfer funds as per your wish. Earlier, the user had to go into the conversation and tap the attach or plus button. Now if the number is not attached, payment can be made directly by entering the UPI ID. Let us tell you, UPI ID can be obtained from any government or private payment bank. The new feature is currently available in v2.18. 31 is available to iPhone users as a stable version.

This version for Android is available as WhatsApp Beta v2.18.75. Apart from this, new notify buttons have also been provided in WhatsApp, through which the user will be informed about the completion of payment. Through this, the person sending the money will also get a notification. The new feature has been seen by a Twitter user. WhatsApp Payments has come at a time when digital payment apps like Google Tez and Paytm were already available in the country.

Just a few days after its launch, allegations of WhatsApp Payments being untrustworthy were also raised. Now WhatsApp has responded to these allegations by providing an improved ‘Send to UPI ID’ button. Only time will tell how much the new feature will impact customers while competing with Paytm and other digital payments.
