Google announced the addition of Plus Code to Google Maps on Tuesday in New Delhi. As we mentioned earlier, Google Maps will add Plus codes in India in a move towards providing a better experience. “To generate the Plus code, the user will have to zoom in on the location,” the Google Maps team said. You will have to enter the PIN of the location and then tap on the PIN to see the code. The company said that the Plus Code will be absolutely free to use. These can also be used offline and it will also be convenient to share them with another user.

Now location information will be made available through Plus code in Google search also. Plus Codes is currently made available for Android. These will be brought for iOS later. The feature has been brought to Map My India, which was launched last year. Google said, “The company is in talks with the government to increase the Plus Code. We have already worked on Plus Code with Book My Show.”

“Add an Address” feature has also been added to Google Maps. For this, the user has to enter the name of Google Maps app – Search for a location (say Connaught Place) – place – house or apartment. After this the app will start searching for the requested location through satellite. After this, options of address, city, state and pin code will be made available.
