New feature comes to ban videos with fake information on TikTok

TikTok is continuously taking some steps to fight the corona virus epidemic. Recently, this video making platform app had donated some money along with medical equipment to help the health workers. At the same time, now TikTok has released a new feature to stop the spread of fake news during the COVID-19 lockdown, the name of this feature is In-App Reporting. TikTok users can now report content on the app that they feel is intentionally spreading misinformation through videos.

TikTok website Post It has been informed that the In-App Reporting feature allows users to report such video content on the app, which is deliberately trying to spread misleading information. This applies to all types of video content, TikTok has introduced a sub-category called “COVID-19 information” within this feature, under which any information related to COVID-19 can be reported.

If TikTok users see any video through which fake news related to Covid-19 is being spread, then they can report this video. To report a video, you have to click on the share button of the video. After this tap on Report and then on Misleading information and then on COVID-19 misinformation. Here you will also see the option of description for optional report, where you can also report by entering the description. After all this is done, click on submit.

TikTok explained that videos that are reported under COVID-19 misinformation are reviewed by an internal taskforce and sent to a third-party checker for investigation. Let us tell you, the internal taskforce has been formed especially to fight fake news during Corona virus. It has been informed in the post that they have partnered with Vishvas News, the fact checking arm of Jagran Group, to check fake news.
