IFS examination is conducted for recruitment in the Forestry Services of India. It is one of the All India Services Examination conducted by UPSC. IFS services are placed under various state cadres and joint cadres, they have to serve both state and central governments. The main objective of IFS service is the implementation of the National Forest Policy which ensures environmental protection and maintenance of environmental balance. All the top officials of the state forest department are IFS officers.

CDS exam is conducted twice a year by UPSC. This exam is especially for those people who want to serve the country by joining defence. Only unmarried candidates can apply for this examination.
