Koo CEO Aprameya Radhekrishna not only confirmed that the app’s services will be available in Nigeria but also said that the app is also being considered to be made available in local languages of Nigeria soon. There are 500 types of local languages spoken in Nigeria such as Hausa, Lagbo and Yoruba.
After Twitter was banned in Nigeria, users turned to VPN services to bypass the government-imposed ban and use Twitter. Now users also have the option of Koo. However, it remains to be seen how many users adopt this Indian app in Nigeria.
Koo app is a microblogging site where users can express their views in 400 characters. Whereas on Twitter there is a limit of 250 words. Posts shared on Koo are called Koo, just as posts on Twitter are called tweets. There is an option to write in Indian languages on the Koo app. Apart from this, users can also share their views in audio and video.
If a user does not know how to write Indian language, then he can type Indian language by going into English type mode. A unique feature in this app is that users can directly share their “Ku” with their friends on WhatsApp and Facebook. This feature is not available on Twitter. The quote can also be shared on WhatsApp status.
