The fingerprint authentication feature will be available in the app under Settings > Account > Privacy.
Once the fingerprint feature is activated, it will be very difficult for any other person to view your WhatsApp. If seen, the phones are already protected with fingerprint authentication. This feature does not seem very useful for them.
The report says, “Users will have to provide their identity to open WhatsApp (from app icon, notifications and external pickers). This will protect the entire app. This feature is not used to protect any specific chat window. Will be able to go.”
The report says that this feature will be available in the future for all those Android users who use Android Marshmallow or any later Android version.
