WhatsApp has officially stopped supporting Windows Phone today. This messaging platform of Facebook has decided to completely withdraw support from Windows Phone from December 31, 2019. This means that no matter which Windows Phone you have, it will not get official support of WhatsApp from today. This instant messaging app has more than 1.5 billion users in the world and 400 million users in India alone. WhatsApp will also stop supporting iPhones running Android 2.3.7 or older and iOS 8 or older from February 1, 2020.

Even if support for these phones is no longer available, WhatsApp will continue to work on Windows Phone. It is worth noting that the app will not get any update or security fix on these phones in future.

WhatsApp has Discontinuation of support for Windows Phone version But said, “We no longer do any development for this operating system, so some features will stop working at any time.”

WhatsApp is not available for download on Microsoft Store since July this year. This service will also stop on Windows Phone upgrade to Windows 10 Mobile from January 14, 2020. This means that the platform will not receive any security updates from the beginning of next month.
