Elon Musk plans to make Twitter users good money through their content, which will be much like YouTube’s monetization model and if Musk’s gestures are to be understood, it will be a better model than YouTube. The billionaire businessman says that Twitter will also provide users with the ability to upload long posts and videos. A monetization model will be introduced on the platform, in which less commission will be charged from creators compared to YouTube.
The new owner of Twitter hinted at this new service through tweets this weekend. The first hint was given when Quinn Nelson tweeted that YouTube “gives 55% of ad revenue to creators,” with Musk replying, “We can beat that.”
Earlier also, a content creator had said that if he was given the right incentives, he would consider posting his full-length videos on Twitter.
The user, who goes by the handle Everyday Astronaut (@Erdayastronaut) with a blue tick, wrote (translated) “If Twitter could handle the full length feature videos I make and offer a similar monetization model like YouTube. If I can, I will definitely consider uploading my full videos here as well.” The user’s profile states that he is a “professional rocket orientation specialist, explainer of flammable stuff, and rocket chaser.”
We can do 42 min chunks at 1080 resolution now for new Blue, so you could break up a longer video. The 42 min limit should be fixed next month.
