New avatar of Google Photos, got many new features

Google Photos has been completely redesigned, with a simpler interface, a brand new logo, a new map view along with a Memories section in the Search tab. Google Photos with the new design will be rolled out for Android and iPhone users next week. The ‘For You’ tab currently includes all Google’s creations like movies, collages and animations etc., but after this Memories will be included in it. In the new Google Photos app, you will now see only three tabs, they are Photos, Search and Library. In the photo section, you will see recent photos as well as your old memories.

The Google Photos interface now includes only three tabs, removing unnecessary content. The first tab is of Photos, in which you will get large thumbnails, auto-playing videos and less white space between photos. Memories is also a part of the Photos tab, in which your old memories will be refreshed by highlighting your best photos from years past. ‘For You’ has been removed and all content creation in this tab has been shifted to the memory section. This will include automatic creations like movies, collages, animations, stylized photos, etc.

The Search tab is placed in the middle, which provides you quick access to people, places and things. Earlier it was present in the Albums tab, but now it has been removed. Apart from this, a new Interactive Map has also been provided in it, in which you can see photos and videos based on the selected place on the map. This feature will work in those devices which have kept their location on or have manually added the location with the photo. If the user does not want his location to be saved, he can switch off the camera location permission by going to the location history.

The last tab is Library, which includes Albums, favorites, trash, archive etc.

As we mentioned earlier, a new icon has also been added to Google Photos. The pinwheel shape remains the same, but this time it is a simpler and smoother version than the previous logo.
