Microblogging site Twitter is facing tough competition from India’s Koo app. Koo has become the second largest microblogging platform in terms of user downloads. It is the only Indian platform to compete with platforms like Gettr, Truth Social, Mastodon and Parler.

Aprameya Radhakrishna, co-founder and CEO of Koo, said that in view of the changes taking place in the microblogging segment across the world, plans are being made to launch Koo in countries where payment is being taken for basic rights. He said that payment should not be taken for such tools on the internet.

After the purchase of Twitter by the world’s richest person Elon Musk, many changes are being made in this largest micro blogging platform. Twitter has launched its ‘Blue’ service in India, which includes verification tag. The price of this service in America has been fixed at eight dollars per month. Musk had fired its CEO, Parag Aggarwal, CFO Ned Segal, General Counsel Sean Edgett and Legal Policy, Trust and Security Head Vijaya Gadde from the company. A big problem for Twitter has been monetization. Musk dissolved the company’s board. Elon Musk is now the only person on the board of Twitter and has complete control of the company.

Recently Koo has launched four new features for users. These include the ability for users to upload up to 10 profile pictures, as well as save, schedule and draft a Koo post. Koo post is like a tweet. Koo users will be able to schedule a post at a later date and time. This will allow a large post to be scheduled in parts at different times, thereby filling up the user’s followers’ feeds less. Before posting to Koo, it can be saved in draft. This will make it easier to make changes to the message before posting. This app has presence in 10 languages and has users in more than 100 countries. Koo has achieved a strong position in language-based micro blogging.
