However, in a recent survey, this new policy of WhatsApp has been rejected by 82 percent of the users. 37 percent of the people surveyed considered it a serious violation of people’s privacy. Whereas 45 percent have said that they can remain on WhatsApp with this policy. Whereas 18 percent people say that the new policy update of WhatsApp does not worry them. Despite controversies over WhatsApp policy, 28 percent say they have no plans to switch to WhatsApp’s alternative instant messaging app. Whereas 29 percent say that they will switch to some other instant messaging app within a month. 25 percent of the people surveyed say that they will switch to another messaging platform within a week. Apart from this, 18 percent of the people surveyed said that they have already switched to the alternative instant messaging platform of WhatsApp.

On WhatsApp policy, Better World-BM Nxt founder and analyst Deepak Kumar said, WhatsApp’s new policy has made people aware. People have now become more aware about the non-messaging WhatsApp platform, which can now help in increasing the user base of these companies. Apart from this, in future WhatsApp users can switch to other instant messaging platforms like Telegram and Signal. In this survey conducted on WhatsApp, 34 percent people have voted for Telegram as an alternative to WhatsApp.
