Video sharing and social media platform YouTube is reportedly testing free TV channel streaming, which means that it is possible that soon you will get to watch some TV channels live for free on YouTube itself. However, it is not that YouTube-owned company Google would not want to earn money by showing you free TV channels, because the report also suggests that this will be a new, ad-supported service.

GMSArena According, YouTube may soon add the service of free live streaming of TV channels on its platform. However, it will be an ad-supported service, which means that the platform, similar to TV, may show you advertisements from time to time.

The report says that the platform is currently testing this service and is in talks with various companies to stream TV shows, movies and entire TV channels. It has been told that some YouTube users have also been selected to test this service.

The report further adds that YouTube is gauging audience interest for now and if everything goes as per plan, the Google-owned service may demand a commission of 45 percent in ad revenue from companies.

Let us tell you that recently, the streaming platform has made a deal with NFL Sunday Ticket and it will be streamed on YouTube TV and YouTube Primetime channels from this year.

YouTube is also starting to share its ad revenue with Shorts creators on its platform, which will reportedly make the service more attractive than TikTok.
