An Amazon spokesperson said in a statement that the company launched its food delivery service based on customer feedback. The new service aims to help local businesses, especially restaurants that are facing difficulties due to the national lockdown. Please note that due to the lockdown, the government has restricted local restaurants from serving food at their locations.
Amazon has launched this new service in four pin codes in Bengaluru – 560048, 560037, 560066 and 560103. However, the company has not yet given any information on what criteria it will select the restaurant and cloud kitchen.
In a report released in February, it was reported that Amazon is planning to launch its online food delivery service in the country. Some sources familiar with the news told Tech News by Careers Ready that there was some delay in the launch of the service due to the lockdown, which was imposed by the government in March to limit the coronavirus outbreak.
