jio phone The good news of Facebook running in India has come only last month. From February 14, the special version of Facebook available in Jio phones can be downloaded from Jio App Store. This app has been specially designed for Jio KaiOS. Let us tell you that Jio’s ‘smart’ 4G feature phone works on web-based operating system. Let us know, how does Facebook work on Jio phone? What experience did we get while using it…

If you want to run Facebook in Jio phone, first of all you have to click on ‘Jio Store’ from the options given in the menu bar. As soon as you go to Jio Store, you will see many applications, including Facebook. Download it by clicking on Facebook. If you are in a place with good connectivity, it will be downloaded within a few seconds. Open Facebook. When you first glance at the login page, you’ll be reminded of Facebook’s mobile browser interface. In this way you can use Facebook in Jio phone. There is nothing new in features and user interface.

Considering its price, the Facebook feature provided in Jio phone is better. It took us only a few seconds to download Facebook, which is a good experience. After this, there was no problem in Facebook login, notifications, checking messages, scrolling up and down. In terms of user interface, Jio Phone’s Facebook reminds you of the early phones that provided a pointer/trackball to use Facebook. We used the phone’s search bar.
We searched Facebook friends by account. Checked friends’ profiles. Went and did many activities in the group. Features like like, comment and share are also working easily in it. You get to know how many notifications have come. By simply moving the pointer on these, you can like, comment and share your and your close friend’s posts. If you are used to running Facebook on Android smartphone or iOS, then using Facebook here may be difficult for you. But, a better Facebook user experience than a Jio feature phone is hardly possible in this budget segment. Not only is the pointer smooth, for example if you are going from a notification to a message, you will not have to move the pointer in empty space. When switching in one direction, the pointer automatically drags to the next feature and stops. In this way, while using Facebook from Jio phone, you do not feel at all that if you had any other phone, you would have used a certain feature.
Here you can update status. Can send message to anyone. You can easily see the message sent by someone. By clicking on the notification, you can like, share and comment without any problem. Also, by going to the settings menu, like a normal phone, you will be able to set the password and other settings as per your choice. That means, all the activities you can do on Facebook from any other phone are also possible with the help of your Jio feature phone.

Now let’s talk about flaws. One of the main problems faced while using Facebook in Jio phone is font/picture size. While scrolling up and scrolling down, text and pictures appear very small, which can be frustrating for the user. Coming out of a large screen and Android experience, when you run Facebook on it, it seems that you are trapped in a small box, where activities like like, comment and share do not provide much interest. Had the user been given an interface different from the mobile browser, the flaws mentioned could have been hidden to a great extent.

Even though the Facebook feature may seem a bit ‘outdated’ while using it, giving such a smooth experience for a feature phone is a big achievement for Reliance Jio.

Let it be known that Jio phone has been available on e-commerce website since last month. Amazon India Has also been made available for sale. Earlier, Jio phone was available for sale only at Reliance Digital Store, Jio website, MyJio app and Reliance Jio partner stores. The price of the phone is Rs 1,500. Let us tell you that if the user returns this phone after 3 years, he will get Rs 1,500 back.
