India's urban unemployment rate fell to 6.7% in March quarter

Relief to LIC, SEBI gives three more years to meet 10% public shareholding norm

Life Insurance Corporation (LIC) has been given three years' additional time by market regulator SEBI till May 16, 2027, to comply with the 10 per cent public shareholding norm. At present the government stake in LIC is 96.50 percent and public stake is 3.50 percent.

LIC informed the stock market that the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) through a letter dated May 14, 2024 informed about the decision to give additional time of three years to Life Insurance Corporation of India to acquire 10 percent public shareholding. . According to the insurance company, the revised deadline for LIC to achieve 10 percent public shareholding is on or before May 16, 2027.
