Although the glossy design leaves some hand marks, but due to the matte surface on top, it is not visible much.
As far as weight is concerned, the company has made it smaller and lighter than before. Not only the buds, but the case has also become smaller. Last year, a case with cylinder design was given. This time it is in a little basket design. The weight of the case is only around 39 grams. Whereas the bud has been kept around 5.9 grams. Its previous model was of 7.2 grams. This time the tips are also a little smaller. Therefore it fits easily in the ears. For the ear tips, Sony has used water urethane foam which are not only comfortable but also fit snugly in the ears. The good thing can be said that this time the company has given some extra eartips, so that you can use them as per your convenience.
This device comes with IPX4 rating. In such a situation, it can be said to be safe from a little splash of water or sweat, but it is not completely waterproof.
Overall, we liked the design and the quality is also special. The only drawback can be said that the glossy part gets fingerprints.

The company has introduced Sony WF-1000XM5 earbuds with Bluetooth 5.3. This new version not only reduces power consumption but also enables multi-device connectivity. For sound, the company has provided 8.4 mm drivers, which come with three mics. To improve the sound quality, Sony's V2 chip is integrated in it. For better noise cancellation, QN2e noise canceling processor has been provided in TWS.
As far as frequency response is concerned, normally this device supports up to 44.2 KHz, but with Aldec audio profiling it supports up to 96 KHz. For Bluetooth formats, the device supports almost all the popular profiles including A2DP, AVRCP and HRC. For audio formats, it comes with SBC, AAC, LDAC and LC3 support. The advantage of Aldec is that you will be able to achieve extreme high-range audio on it.

Talking about the features, it has multiple Bluetooth pairing support and you can connect two devices simultaneously. Also, one can easily switch to each other. Along with this, you get many acquirer settings in this TWS, from where you can set it as per your wish. However, one feature is my favorite and that is its speak to chat. If you are listening to music, then while talking, it automatically turns on the ambient sound of the headphones. With this you can easily talk to the other person.
Along with this, you get features like head track and head node in this ear bud. This is a gesture feature where you can answer phone calls by moving your head. To use handsfree, voice control features like Alexa and Google Assistant are available in it. Along with all this, Find My Bud will also impress you.
performance
There is no doubt that it is very good in terms of music. Not only the music, the audio of this device will also impress you. Whether you talk about music or calling. Having an equalizer setting gives you a better feel and it also comes with Adaptive ANC. You can use it as per your need. However, the company claims that noise cancellation has become 20 percent better than the old model. We will not talk about 20 or 10 per cent here, but yes the ANC is very good.
As far as battery charging and backup is concerned, the company claims that it gets fully charged in about one and a half hours. However, in our test also this device took a little more time to charge, which was about two hours. Usually it takes this much time. For battery backup, the company claims 6 hours with ANC and 8 hours without ANC. Here let us tell you that we got much better results and this backup becomes even more with the case. In such a situation there is no shortage anywhere.
The base of the audio is good, but the travel is more pronounced. There was scope to improve the bass as we saw in Jabra. Despite this, we liked its performance.

Sony WF-1000XM5 earbuds not only have an attractive design but also excel in performance. Its sound quality is the best, but the bass could be a little better. However, the price of this earbud is currently Rs 23,990 on Amazon, which puts it out of the budget of common users.
