Looking at the design of Honor X9b, it seems that the company has learned something from Realme's playbook. The camera module is surrounded by two golden rings. The outer ring has ridges that increase the prominence of the camera module, while the inner ring highlights the text 'Matrix AI Vision Camera' written on the smartphone.

Additionally, the handset features a curved screen and plastic frame. At the same time, the weight of the smartphone is only 185 grams and thickness is 7.98 mm. Also, there is a punch-hole cutout in the middle on the front of the phone, in which the front camera is placed.

On the front, there is a center punch-hole for the Honor selfie camera. At the same time, very thin bezels have been provided in the handset. The phone is equipped with a 6.78-inch AMOLED display with 1.5k resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, 1920Hz PWM dimming and 1200 nits peak brightness.

The Honor X9b sports a large 108MP sensor as its primary camera, paired with a 5MP ultra-wide lens and a 2MP macro unit. The handset has a 16MP snapper for selfies and video calling. First impressions We found the photo quality to be good in well-lit areas, especially from the main 108MP camera which outputs 12MP photos by default.

The Honor X9b is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 SoC, which arrived in India with the Realme 12 Pro earlier this year. It is a mid-range octa-core chipset with a 2.2GHz clock speed, Adreno A710 GPU, and a built-in 5G modem. The SoC is paired with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of non-expandable storage. Apart from this, the RAM can be increased to about 8GB by using a part of the phone's storage.

Software-wise, the Honor X9b runs Android 13-based MagicOS 7.2 out of the box. This is a bit old software, but the company claims that a new update is coming. The handset is expected to get two years of major software upgrades and three years of security updates.

In terms of battery, HONOR X9b supports 5,800 mAh battery and 35W fast charging. In the first impression we learned that the charging speed on the smartphone is quite slow. Even with the official 30W charger, the Honor X9b takes two and a half hours to fully charge from 0-100 percent.

Honor X9b will compete with these phones

The Honor X9b presents itself as an attractive smartphone thanks to its durability, style and powerful 5,800mAh battery. The handset has a 120Hz AMOLED display and a 108MP primary camera. But, the device will compete with the already existing POCO X6 Pro, Motorola Edge 40, and Realme 12 Pro+ in India. The Realme phone comes as a camera-centric device. At the same time, the Motorola Edge 40 is equipped with clean software and some great features like IP68 rating and wireless charging capabilities. Apart from this, POCO X6 Pro is one of the most powerful and feature-packed smartphones in its segment.
