Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) has warned its customers to beware of fake calls. Actually, this has been done because nowadays people are getting a fake call in which the name of TRAI is being used and the phone number is being threatened to be switched off. In view of this, TRAI on Wednesday warned people against fraudulent calls and termed such calls as illegal.

Cheating in the name of TRAI
TRAI said in a statement That it has been brought to their notice that some companies/agencies/individuals are fraudulently calling the public/customers saying that they are from TRAI and the mobile numbers of the public/customers will be disconnected as these numbers are being used for sending unwanted messages. Is being done for.
Companies, agencies and individuals involved in such activities also mislead customers by making these claims. They also obtain their Aadhaar number and use it to get a SIM card, thereby carrying out illegal activities.
Does not try to block or block mobile number
TRAI said it neither ‘blocks’ nor disables any mobile number of any individual telecom subscriber. Any such call or message claiming to be from TRAI should be considered as fraud.

TRAI said that affected persons can directly lodge their reports through their service provider customer care or by visiting the National Crime Reporting Portal http://cybercrime.gaurd.in. Apart from this, call can also be made on cyber crime helpline number 1930.
