1 lakh new bsnl mobile tower to install in india improve network coverage and 4g service

Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) will focus on southern telecom circles/states after launching 4G in Punjab. To recall, the government telecom company had conducted a pilot test of domestic 4G technology by deploying it at 200 sites in Punjab. Now, BSNL is expected to launch 4G at 3000 sites in Punjab by December and now it is reported that it will also be launched in the Southern Telecom Circle.

BSNL 4G will come soon in Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and Telangana

States like Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and Telangana will be among the few southern states that will be equipped with BSNL 4G in the future. A Business Standard report quoting officials said that more than 4,200 sites have been mapped in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh for the roll-out of 4G.

The report also states that BSNL is taking help from DoT (Department of Telecommunications)’s USOF (Universal Service Obligation Fund) to install 4G equipment in new towers. The move to focus on the southern states highlights the importance of the region to BSNL’s business.

The government telecom company earns most of its revenue from these telecom circles. However, recently BSNL has been losing customers in circles like Kerala and Tamil Nadu due to lack of 4G services.

At the seventh edition of Mobile India Congress, BSNL Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) P.K. Purwar also confirmed that the company plans to complete the rollout of its 4G services by June 2024 and the rollout of 5G services should begin after that.

The company is preparing to launch its 4G service from Punjab at the end of December. Purwar also confirmed that the company has done the necessary hardening for the network consisting of 200 sites.
