SSC Stenographer Salary 2024, to the stenographer allowances to be paid
The allowances given to the candidates appointed to the post of Stenographer are as follows:
1. House Rent Allowance (HRA)
House rent allowance will depend on the class of city in which you are living. HRA in X, Y and Z category cities will not be less than Rs 5400/month, Rs 3600/month and Rs 1800/month respectively.
- 24% of basic pay for X category cities
- 16% of basic pay for Y category cities
- 8% of basic pay for Z category cities
HRA for cities HRA will be 30%, 20% and 10%.
2. Dearness Allowance (DA)
Dearness Allowance is the cost of living allowance and currently as per 7th Pay Commission it is 12% of the basic pay.
3. Transport Allowance (TA)
The rate of Transport Allowance per month varies depending on your place of posting:
- For employees posted in cities: Rs 3600. + After this DA
- For employees posted elsewhere: Rs 1800. + After this DA
