SSC Stenographer Selection Process 2024
Staff Selection Commission conducts All India Open Competitive Examination for SSC Stenographer 2024 Recruitment to the posts of Stenographer Grade 'C' (Group 'B' Non-Gazetted) and Stenographer Grade 'D' (Group 'C' Non-Gazetted). Since SSC Stenographer Grade 'C' and 'D' are made up of two different levels, we should understand their syllabus separately.

SSC Stenographer Syllabus 2024: Tier 1
There are 3 sections in SSC Stenographer Grade C & D 2024 Tier I Exam, i.e. General Intelligence & Reasoning, General Awareness and English Language Will be included. The total duration of Tier I will be 2 hours and candidates can check the detailed exam pattern and syllabus in this article.
SSC Stenographer Syllabus, general intelligence and reasoning
General Intelligence and Reasoning section is one of the three sections which are calculative. It will include both verbal and non-verbal type of questions. The test will include questions on the following topics:
- conformance,
- Similarities and differences,
- spatial orientation,
- problem solution,
- analysis, judgment, decision making,
- Visual memory, discrimination observation, relational concept,
- Arithmetical logic, and arithmetic number series,
- Verbal and figure classification, non-verbal series, etc.
The test will also include questions designed to test the candidate's abilities to conceive of abstract ideas and symbols and their relations, and to perform arithmetical computations and other analytical operations.
SSC Stenograph Syllabus: general awareness
In the General Awareness section, questions will be designed to test the candidate's general awareness of the environment around him and its application in society.
Questions will also be designed to test knowledge of the scientific aspects of current events and such matters of everyday observation and experience as may be expected of an educated person. The test will also include questions related to India and its neighboring countries, especially about sports, history, culture, geography, economic scenario, general politics including Indian Constitution and scientific research etc. These questions will be such that no special study of any subject will be required.

Apart from testing the candidates' understanding of English, his/her writing ability of vocabulary, grammar, sentence structure, synonyms, antonyms, correct usage, etc. will also be tested.

- Only those candidates who obtain qualifying marks in the written examination prescribed by the Commission will be called for the skill test.
- It may also determine the qualifying marks in each part of the written examination.
- The skill test will be of qualifying nature. Candidates will have to appear for stenography test.
- stenographer grade ,C, for the post of candidates English to,In Hindi 10 for minutes 100 at the speed of words per minute and stenographer grade ,D, for the post of 80 A dictation at the speed of words per minute will be given .
- The subject will have to be transcribed on the computer itself.
- Transcription will be evaluated electronically only.
