Draupadi Murmu has been elected as the 15th President of India. He took oath as President on July 25, 2022. National Democratic Alliance (NDA) candidate Draupadi Murmu defeated United Progressive Alliance (UPA) candidate Yashwant Sinha in the third phase of counting, which began at 11 am on July 21, 2007. He got the required 5 lakh 43 thousand 261 votes for victory in the third round itself. Before this, Draupadi Murmu had been the Governor of Jharkhand. She held the post of Governor of Jharkhand from May 18, 2015 to July 12, 2021.
