Bihar Governor approves bill to increase reservation from 50% to 65%
Bihar Governor, Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar approved the ‘Bihar Reservation Amendment Bill’ on 17 November. This legislative development comes after the state government unanimously passed the bill during the winter session with the Chief Minister. The way for 65 percent reservation in Bihar has been cleared. Scope of reservation increased for SC-ST, OBC-EBC.
In this context, the General Administration Department of Bihar will publish the gazette. After that it will come into effect. The bill was passed unanimously in the Assembly and Legislative Council in the winter session of the Bihar Legislature. There was a proposal to increase the scope of reservation from 50 to 65 percent. By adding 10 percent of EWS it will become 75 percent.

GDP growth rate likely to be 6.3% in 2024: Goldman Sachs
India’s real gross domestic product (GDP) growth rate will decline marginally to 6.3% next year. American brokerage company Goldman Sachs has made this estimate in a report. The brokerage firm said that in terms of financial year, the growth rate in the financial year 2024-25 is likely to increase from the estimated 6.2% in the current financial year to 6.5%. Goldman Sachs said, this sector has the best potential for structural growth in India. We believe that GDP growth rate is likely to remain strong at 6.3% in 2024. The report said the country is less ‘sensitive’ to potential external shocks such as rising global interest rates, continued strengthening of the dollar and geo-political uncertainties.
