RRB JE Salary
The basic pay fixed as per the 7th Pay Commission guidelines is Rs 35,400/- and other allowances are as per the times. The grade pay for various posts under RRB Junior Engineer is given below:

RRB JE salary based on job location
As per RRB JE notification, RRB JE salary will depend on the place of posting. Indian Railways has divided the cities into 3 classes, candidates will get their salary according to the class of the city in which they are posted. The three classes are as follows:
- Class A: Metropolis
- Class B: Metropolis + Other Big Cities
- Class C: Village + Small Cities

RRB JE 2023 Salary: After Training
After completion of training period, candidates will get the following salary. Candidates will get increase in basic pay, which will be Rs 36,500/-. Here, we have taken X-category for House Rate Allowance (HRA), which is 27% for the candidates.

After the implementation of the Seventh Pay Commission, there have been some changes in the House Rent Allowance. The revised changes in House Rent Allowance are as follows:

RRB JE Responsibilities and Job Role
Various responsibilities of Junior Engineer are given below:
- Periodic and accounting verification of stores and equipment in his charge.
- Monitoring and maintenance of valuable equipment like overhead (OHE), and substation (PS) which are involved in movement of rolling stock.
- To monitor signaling installation of stations.
- Checking the functioning and availability of IT hardware/software/office equipment like photocopier, fax machine etc.
RRB JE Civil Engineer Job Profile
- Maintenance and construction of railway buildings like encroachment of railway land, staff quarters, supply of water to these buildings etc.
- Platform extension work, construction or repair of platform shed, painting etc. all the works are included under asset creation.
- It is the responsibility to ensure that the railway tracks are proper and maintained for the safe, smooth and fast movement of trains.
- Maintenance and operation of workshops and construction of bridges in the Railway Division.
- Preparing the completed platform requires estimating, and drawing the work.
RRB JE Mechanical Engineer Job Profile
- Making error free rolling stock like diesel.
- To maintain the condition of components of goods wagons and passenger coaches.
RRB JE Electrical Engineer Job Profile
- Monitoring and maintenance of valuable equipment like overhead (OHE), and substation (PS) which are involved in movement of rolling stock.
- Maintenance of the electric locomotive, equipment overhead, and traction distribution of the train (i.e. controlling the speed at which the drive wheels rotate), lighting and air conditioning (AC), power supply, security systems, etc.
- Production and Safety of Main Line EMUs (MEMUs), Electrical Multiple Units (EMUs), and Electric Locomotives.
RRB JE Electrical Engineer Job Profile
- Seeing signaling installation of stations.
- Finalization of proposal for working budget, revenue and periodic review.
