In view of the increasing cases of Corona virus epidemic in Maharashtra, the state government has imposed a strict lockdown, due to which now food delivery apps like Zomato and Swiggy have stopped taking orders after 8 pm. Both these apps sent a notification to their users on April 5, the first day of the night curfew, informing them that they should place their orders before 8 pm, so that food can be delivered to them as soon as possible. Both Swiggy and Zomato have informed their users through messages that they will not accept any orders after 8 pm.

Both Zomato and Swiggy in Mumbai have in-app messages informing them that the companies will not accept orders after 8 pm. If you order food through Zomato after 8 pm, you will see the message, “We’re currently not accepting orders online. We’ll be back soon.” At the same time, it is written in the message of Swiggy, “We are not delivering here at the moment!”.

This new step of both the food delivery apps has been taken under the new lockdown guidelines issued by the Maharashtra government. Talking about the increasing corona virus cases in Maharashtra, this number has crossed 47,000. The number crossed 11,000 in Mumbai on Sunday, which is the highest figure since the beginning of the pandemic. In view of the increasing cases, the Maharashtra government has announced a night curfew, along with which a complete lockdown will be imposed on weekends. Talking about night curfew, it will last from 8 pm to 7 am. Both Zomato and Swiggy are following the government orders in this regard. However, this new lockdown will continue only till April 30.

The government notification said, “Take-away orders, parcels and home delivery services will operate between 7 am to 8 pm from Monday to Friday. Only home delivery service will be allowed between 7 am to 8 pm on weekends…. It will not be legal to go to any restaurant or bar for ordering or pickup. ,

The government has started the vaccination process for people aged 45 years and above. For this, users will have to register themselves by visiting the CoWIN portal and then go to their nearest center to get vaccinated. Rs 250 will be charged for vaccination in private hospitals, while free vaccination is being given in government hospitals.
