Earlier, a maximum of four users could be connected to it. This increased limit has been added on WhatsApp v2.20.133 beta for Android and WhatsApp v2.20.50.25 beta for iPhone. WhatsApp is enabling this feature for beta users on both platforms, but this suggests that the feature may soon be rolled out on the stable variant as well.

It has been informed in the report that users can take advantage of this feature only on the latest beta version. If you’ve already updated and still don’t see the feature, you can uninstall and reinstall WhatsApp and back up your chat history to get the latest configuration from the servers. It is also reported that WhatsApp is rolling it out gradually, so all users should get activation from the server in a few hours.

To make a group call on WhatsApp, you have to open the group and click on the call button at the top right. If there are more than eight users in the group, WhatsApp will ask which eight contacts you want to call and if the number of users is eight or less then the call will start directly. Group members who are not saved in your phone’s contacts list will not be added to the call.
