By selecting Only Admins, only the group administrator will be allowed to send messages. Changes made to settings will be communicated to the group via broadcast message. If the Only Admins option is selected, “Only admins can send messages” will appear in the message field.
There is also an option to edit group info in group settings. With its help, administrators can decide whether all group members can edit the group description or not. If there is even one administrator in the group, both features can be accessed.
Group admin controls for WhatsApp were first released in May. During this, the group administrator was given the facility to set the rights to change the group description and icon. Apart from this, group admins can reduce the rights of other members.
