Work is going on on the new emoji section of WhatsApp

WhatsApp Android beta version 2.19.116 has been released and its teardown reveals that the company is working on a new feature. Facebook-owned instant messaging app WhatsApp is working on a separate category of emoji in the Doodle Picker section. This feature is currently disabled by default, even if you are on the latest beta version, you will not see this feature. After the arrival of this category, you will get two different sections of emoji and stickers on WhatsApp as you can see in the picture.

For the convenience of users, WhatsApp is working on separate sections for emojis and stickers because such an option is not currently available in the stable app. This doodle picker will be found in the status bar. Now if you click a photo or add a photo to the status bar, you see several editing tools before posting the status. The smiley icon seen at the top is the doodle picker. Currently, both stickers and emoji appear together in the Doodle Picker.
