According to the information revealed by feature tracker WABetaInfo According, the recent WhatsApp beta for iOS update for the instant messaging platform included some code that revealed that users will soon be able to choose an accent color to theme certain parts of the UI. These include the number of messages on the right side of the chat list, the circle around status updates, the color of the selected tab at the bottom, and certain buttons on the interface.
These UI elements are seen with blue color accent on the new stable version of WhatsApp on iOS. A screenshot of 5 color accents was shared by WABetaInfo, which showed an option between WhatsApp's green accent, the existing blue option, an off-white color, pink, and purple color. Users will reportedly be informed that selecting one of the 5 options will only update the main branding color of the app.
According to WABetaInfo, a new version of WhatsApp beta for iOS 24.1.10.72 with support for a new feature is being made available to testers through the TestFlight program. Beta testers are now in a new sticker editor Which can completely eliminate the need for other sticker apps.
According to information shared by WABetaInfo, tapping on an existing sticker will allow beta testers to edit it via the edit sticker button. Meanwhile, a second button called Create Your Own will allow users to create their own stickers on the app. While creating stickers, users will also be able to remove the background from the photo on their smartphone.
According to the feature tracker, the new sticker editor is currently being released to beta testers. It may take some time for the color accent picker to become available to testers. WhatsApp generally maintains similar features between the two platforms. Therefore, these features are also expected to come to WhatsApp on Android in the future.
