WhatsApp recently introduced a new secret code feature for locked chats, which allows users to unlock locked chats only with a specific secret code. It has also been reported that the platform is working on many new features. WhatsApp is said to be reintroducing the “View Once” photo and video feature to WhatsApp Web and WhatsApp Desktop versions. Additionally, the platform is also reportedly working on a 'Search by username' feature similar to the feature available on Telegram. A new report suggests that the Meta-owned company may soon allow users to share their WhatsApp status on Instagram.

WhatsApp feature tracker, WABetaInfo published a recent Android-2-23-25-20-whats-new/” rel=”nofollow” target=”_blank”>Post has shared that the social media platform is working on an optional feature that may allow users to share WhatsApp status directly to Instagram. It was spotted on WhatsApp Beta v2.23.25.20 for Android on Google Play Store. The platform already gives users the option to share WhatsApp status on Facebook. The new feature may also be something similar.

In the screenshot shared by WABetaInfo, options to share status updates on Facebook and Instagram are visible in the status privacy tab. Similar to the Share to Facebook option, users will have the option to enable or disable this feature. The report says that WhatsApp is expected to introduce this feature to all users in the future, but no exact timeline has been given.

The report says that users will also be able to control the viewers of WhatsApp statuses shared as Instagram Stories, just like normal Instagram Stories. Once launched, this feature will make it easier to share information and can improve the reliability and consistency of sharing content across platforms.

Additionally, the beta version of the popular messaging platform on Android was spotted with a feature that will allow users to search for other users on the app by their username. The feature is reportedly being prepared for an upcoming update on the app for Android users. Like the feature of searching username on Telegram, this new WhatsApp update can also allow users to chat with unknown people without sharing their phone number.
