WhatsApp is enabling many new features for Android beta users. This includes a very useful ‘Always Mute’ feature, a new storage usage UI and its tools, and another feature called Media Guidelines. The instant messaging platform has released WhatsApp 2.20.201.10 beta for Android and it has also been revealed that the video and voice call buttons for business accounts have gone missing. New features have been enabled in the latest beta, but it may take a little longer for some to get used to them.

WABetaInfo has spotted several new features in the latest WhatsApp 2.20.201.10 beta for Android. The most useful feature of all is the Always Mute feature, which replaces the previously available ‘one year’ option when muting a chat. As the name suggests, through this feature people will be able to mute a group or a single user forever. We were able to see this feature in the latest beta. WABetaInfo also said that if it doesn’t appear immediately, it should be visible to all beta users within a few days.

The update also brings a new storage usage UI for beta users. The tracker says that the rollout started in the previous beta, but the rollout was not visible to everyone at that time. With WhatsApp 2.20.201.10 beta for Android, many users can now reportedly see the feature. We still haven’t received this new UI, but it should be enabled for all users in a few days.

Additionally, Media Guidelines are being enabled for public beta testing. This feature allows users to align stickers and text when you edit photos, videos, and GIFs. This feature is still not enabled for us, but it should be available soon.

Finally, the tracker observed that WhatsApp was hiding voice and video call buttons in chats on verified business accounts. The buttons have also disappeared from Contact Info. Those buttons are still available if you tap the profile icon in the chat and contact lists. There is no clarity on why WhatsApp is hiding these chats. This may just be a test and WhatsApp may bring it back in a future update.
