How to activate speed limits in Google Maps
Speed limits for Google Maps are shown in the lower left corner of the map, above a bar displaying trip duration, ETA, kilometers remaining, and options to turn off navigation and show the entire route. Here’s how you can activate it for Android smartphones:
- Open Google Maps.
- At the top right corner, click on the profile picture or your initials.
- Go to Settings.
- Scroll down to Navigation Settings.
- Go to Speed Limits setting and select it On/Off.
If the user is driving above the speed limit on that road, he will be informed by Google Maps. That is, if your car is at a speed exceeding the speed limit on that road, then a notification is sent to you for this.
Although currently due to the advancement of technology, the information provided by the apps can be trusted to some extent, but Google Maps still suggests the users to use their discretion only to take the right decision. Therefore Google Maps advises to check the car speed in the speedometer only.
