There have been many reports in the past on theft of personal data of Tik Tok users. Now according to a new report, your data on this platform can also be stolen through the in-app keyboard i.e. the keyboard present in the app. This news comes from InAppBrowser.com (via PhoneArena). It has been said that data can also be stolen through the in-app keyboard present on social media platforms. Your data can be stolen through these apps just based on what you are typing. The report also states that big social media apps such as TikTok, Facebook and Instagram can use JavaScript to obtain information including your credit card data, home address, passwords etc. without your consent.

The report also said that these social media apps can detect what you are typing if you use their in-app keyboard. Among all these apps, there is one company which does not allow users to use the default QWERTY keyboard, that is Tik Tok. In other words, you are forced to let your personal data be stolen.

In its defense, Tik Tok shared a tweet on Twitter in which it was written – “What has been said about Tik Tok in the report is wrong and confusing.” Contrary to their claims, we do not collect keystrokes.” However, according to some other reports, the in-app browser is also dangerous because the company can track almost every stroke through this browser on third party websites.
