Very soon groceries will be delivered to your home through drones. Swiggy has partnered with Garuda Aerospace to deliver groceries in cities like Delhi-NCR and Bengaluru through drones. At present, preparations are being made to conduct trial runs in these cities. Through this pilot project, the need for use of drones in Swiggy’s grocery delivery service Instamart can be assessed.

One blog post Swiggy has said that the delivery partner will take the orders from the ‘common point’ and deliver them to the customers. According to the report of news agency ANI, Garuda Aerospace has said that Swiggy had requested it for this. A proposal was sent. Agnishwar Jayaprakash, Founder CEO of Garuda Aerospace, has called this partnership ‘the dawn of a new era in drone delivery’. According to him, startups like Swiggy have understood how advanced Garuda Aerospace drones can play a role in providing delivery in crowded cities.

Garuda Aerospace is making headlines very fast. Its manufacturing facilities in Gurgaon and Chennai have been inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. According to the company, Garuda Aerospace is the country’s most valuable drone startup with a value of $250 million (about Rs 1,910 crore).
