Jio Phone users have started getting Jio Pay option with Unified Payments Interface (UPI) support, this information has been revealed by a report. This new experience is currently available to select users, this feature is said to have been in internal testing for more than a year. It has been informed in the report that after August 15, it has started rolling out for Jio phone users. Some earlier reports had suggested that Jio was working with National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) to enable a proprietary payment experience on Jio Phone. Let us tell you, this 5G support feature phone was launched in July 2017.

BGR India’s Report According to , the UPI-based payments Jio Pay experience for Jio Phone has been initially rolled out to 1,000 users. Three pictures have been shared on the website, which show the presence of Jio Pay in the Jio Phone. Some features have been listed in the app, the names of which are as follows – Tap & Pay, Send Money, Recharge and Accounts. Through this, users can also view their payment history.

Jio Pay app uses UPI to send and receive money in Jio phone. It is also likely to have built-in NFC for tap and pay feature.

Jio has reportedly reworked the UPI payment transaction system to bring Jio Pay to Jio Phone. Jio phone works on KaiOS. Additionally, the operator has partnered with banks like Axis Bank, HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank, IndusInd, Kotak Mahindra Bank, RBL Bank, Standard Chartered, State Bank of India and Yes Bank to provide convenient payment services.
