Cyber risk assessment platform Cyble on Medium Report According to , data of 267 million Facebook users has been sold for just 500 Euros (approximately Rs 41,600) after being stolen. According to the report, the stolen data of Facebook users includes their email ID, name, Facebook ID, date of birth and phone number. However, it is a matter of relief for the users in the report that the password has not been included in this data by the hackers.
Cyble claims that their researchers have obtained information about this cell and are also able to download and verify this data. The company says (translated) “At this time we are not aware of how the data was leaked in the first place. It could be due to a leak or scraping of a third-party application programming interface (API).”
In December last year also, a report had come out that the data of 26 crore 70 lakh Facebook users had been stolen and posted online. It was informed in the report that this data has been posted by hackers in the online hacker forum.
