Using this feature, users will be able to share their contact information easily and quickly through QR code. This feature will work similar to the nametag on Instagram and Snapchat’s Snapcode. Looking at the screenshot, it can be seen that using WhatsApp, users will be able to add a new contact by simply scanning the QR code. After the QR code is scanned correctly, you will be able to easily save the new contact’s information in the phone book without even closing the app. WABetaInfo has claimed that this feature has currently been spotted on the iOS platform. Apart from Share Contact Info via QR, the company is also working on redesigning the new contact feature for Android and iOS platforms. According to the report, as soon as you select the country, it will automatically pick up the country code. As you enter the phone number, it will show whether the contact is a WhatsApp user or not.

In the screenshot you can see that ‘Not on WhatsApp’ is written just below the number. This feature of WhatsApp will replace the existing ‘New contact’ shortcut. According to WABetaInfo, both the features are not yet available on Android and iOS platforms.
