Reliance Jio has launched JioMeet service to compete with video conferencing app Zoom. Mukesh Ambani’s telecom company launched its video conferencing app with little fanfare on Thursday night and it is now available as a service app on Google Play and App Store. Reliance Jio has released its first new product after continuous fundraises over the past few months and it is taking on the likes of Zoom, Google Meet, Microsoft Teams and other popular video conferencing tools.

JioMeet has the ability to conduct direct calls (1:1 calling) as well as meetings with up to 100 participants. According to Reliance Jio, the app offers enterprise-grade host controls. You can sign-up with your phone number or email ID and have your meetings in HD quality. It’s free to use and you can hold unlimited meetings per day. Apart from this, meetings can also be password protected and it also supports waiting room feature like Zoom.

Reliance Jio held continuous fundraises from April to June, starting with the company’s deal with Facebook that gave the social media giant a 9.99 percent stake in Jio. JioMeet can not only be used from a browser (Chrome or Firefox only), but it is also available as an app on Windows, Mac, iOS and Android. You can link themJio’s website Can see in.

The platform has a very simple interface that actually looks a lot like Zoom, but a quick review showed that it works just like other major video conferencing apps. JioMeet says that the app supports multi-device log-in on up to five devices and you can easily switch between devices while on a call. It also has a feature called Safe Driving Mode and also has basic features like screen sharing.

Even though the app is available to the public now, Jio had been testing it for a few months and you can see the comments on Google Play showing how it worked with just an invite code. But now all you have to do is sign up for JioMeet and you can use it for free.
