Instagram is soon going to bring a feature like TikTok in India. According to the report, the name of this feature will be ‘Reels’. This new feature was first launched in Brazil in November and now it is reported that the company is testing this feature in India. As everyone knows, the Indian government had banned 59 Chinese apps across the country last week, of which the most talked about app was TikTok. After the ban of TikTok, everyone is preparing to come up with its alternative, in which now the name of Instagram has also been added. Some Instagram users say that they have also received this Reels feature through the update. However, it is yet to be rolled out for all users.

Citing people familiar with the matter, Business Insider Report It is said that some people have started getting this new feature of Instagram through Reels update. TechCrunch According to the report, this feature was first introduced in Brazil. Then it came to France and Germany.

The Reels feature will work exactly like TikTok in Instagram, users can create their own 15 second video and edit it. After the video is made, it can be uploaded. Under this feature, users will also get the option to add effects and music before posting their video online.

Instagram confirmed to Tech News by Careers Ready via email that it plans to expand Reels to other countries, without providing specific details.

After TikTok was banned in India, more TikTokers have turned to Instagram and YouTube. For this reason, now Instagram is preparing to provide a video platform to its users. It is likely that Instagram’s Reels feature could give a tough competition to Indian TikTok apps, which include apps like Chingari, Mitron, and Roposo.

It is worth noting that last week Facebook had announced that it was going to shut down the TikTok inspired video app Lasso, which was launched in November 2018. Facebook gave this information to users through notification. The app was available in countries like Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Peru and the US, and not in India.
