According to reports, Twitter received a legal request on June 6 from the Indian government to take action against four Twitter accounts, including Jazzy B. In this regard, a Twitter spokesperson has informed that when Twitter receives a valid legal request, the company reviews it under both Twitter rules and local laws.
The spokesperson further informed that if the content violates Twitter’s rules, it is removed from the platform. At the same time, if it is found illegal in any jurisdiction, but it does not violate Twitter’s rules… then its access is blocked only in India.
Something similar has happened in the case of Jazzy B, her account has been blocked only in India.
Reports suggest that Jazzy B was continuously tweeting in support of the farmers’ movement.
Let us tell you, even before this, after the legal notice of the Government of India, more than 500 accounts were suspended on Twitter, while the access of more than 100 accounts was blocked. At that time, the reason given for closing these accounts was that these accounts were spreading misinformation and inflammatory content through microblogging websites.
