Information about the Instagram Threads update was first made public by tipster Jane Manchun Wong. He has shared a screenshot of the new feature of Instagram on his Twitter handle. It can be seen in the shared screenshot that even after the update, chats with close friends will still be given priority in the inbox. By default notifications in threads are only enabled for close friends, but the settings can be changed in the app.
Let us tell you, Threads was launched by Instagram last year, in which users can chat with people whom they have marked as close friends on Instagram. The image-centric messaging app also lets users share automatic status updates like ‘On the Move,’ ‘Out and About’ and ‘Low Battery.’
Threads lets you instantly send photos and videos to your close friends, but now any user on your Instagram can easily connect with you. However, the interface looks exactly the same as before. The update changelog mentions that close friends will still be given priority in messages, statuses and stories.
Let us tell you, only last week Facebook had merged its two important services Instagram and Messenger. After this merger, now Messenger users can directly message Instagram users.
