The Mitron app is not made in India, but purchased from Qboxus, a Pakistani software developer. A report has revealed this. However, due to being called an app of Indian origin, it is being downloaded on a large scale in India. An interesting thing related to the name Mitron is that this word is often spoken many times even by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Mitron also means friend and somewhere it might make people feel that it is a native app. But now new reports are claiming that the Friends app is actually a rebranded version of the TicTic app, which was created by a Pakistani developer named Qboxus.

Irfan Shaikh, founder and CEO of Qboxus, the company that makes TicTic app, told News18 told That he has sold the source code of the app to the creator of Mitron for $34 i.e. approximately Rs 2,500. Sheikh further explained that his company sells the source code, from which buyers customize the app. He told Network 18, (translated) “There is no problem with what the developer has done. They paid for the script and used it, which is fine. But, the problem is with those people who are calling it an Indian-made app, which is not completely true, because the developers have not made any changes in this app.”

The identity of the creator of Mitra is still not confirmed, although reports say that it was created by a student of IIT Roorkee. The Mirton app developer’s web page on Google Play leads to a website shopkiller.in, which is a blank page.

The app also doesn’t have any kind of privacy policy, so people who are signing up for it and uploading their videos – have no idea what’s being done with their data. If we look at the permissions the app asks for, there are a lot of them.

According to most of the reviews the app has received, the actual experience of this app is full of bugs. The surprising thing is that the users who reported the bugs have also given a higher rating to the app in their reviews and the reason behind this is that the app is Indian. Therefore, now it has come to light that this app has been purchased from a Pakistani developer, it can definitely cause a drop in the rating.
