Facebook is reportedly working on the integration of WhatsApp and Facebook Messenger, which the company announced some time ago. A report by WhatsApp features tracker WABetaInfo suggests that Facebook is soon planning to enable communication between its two popular online chat apps. If this news proves to be true, then this feature will be rolled out as soon as possible. Similarly, you can chat on WhatsApp through Facebook Messenger. However, no clear information has been revealed yet about how Facebook completes this integration planning without compromising on data encryption and user security.

WABetaInfo’s Report According to, developer Alessandro Paluzzi has informed that Facebook is working on the integration of WhatsApp and Facebook Messenger. The developer has received some important references regarding this integration, as the code indicates that Facebook is creating some tables in the local database so that messages and other WhatsApp user services can be managed in order. The code reference indicates that Facebook can know which WhatsApp contact is blocked, not only this, it can also identify the sound of push notification and other chat related information.

Depending on the code, it also includes information like contact number, message counter, archive chat etc. Apart from this, Facebook Messenger can also prove to be capable of viewing profile photos of WhatsApp groups and contacts.

The tracker claims that Facebook is not collecting WhatsApp messages, but the code in the local database is working on it. WABetaInfo has predicted that Facebook may adopt the single protocol to encrypt and decrypt messages, which WhatsApp is already using. However, at present it is not clear whether disable option will be given in this feature or not. The tracker believes that due to it being a difficult feature, Facebook will also introduce the option to disable this feature in the future.

WABetaInfo thinks end-to-end encryption will continue in WhatsApp messages.
