Instagram’s new TikTok-like feature ‘Reels’ is going to be rolled out in the testing phase in India from today, which will start at 7.30 pm. Recently there was news that the Facebook-owned company is testing its new short video feature in India, this new feature is very much like TikTok, whose name is ‘Reels’. Let us tell you, after Brazil, France and Germany, India is the fourth country where ‘Reels’ is being tested. As we told, this feature will be rolled out in India from this evening, after which users will be able to watch short videos of popular content creators in the Reels section of Instagram. The content creators selected by Instagram for the Reels feature include Radhika Bangiya, Jhanvi Dassetti aka Mahathalli, Indrani Vishwas aka Wondermunna and Ammy Virk etc.

The Reels feature has been integrated into the Instagram app. To create a reels video on Instagram, the user has to open the camera in the Instagram app, after this you will see the Reels option at the bottom of the screen, by clicking on which you can create your reels video. Instagram has also provided some tools to use this feature, so that you can record and edit your 15 second video.

You can also use in-app music tracks and custom audio to create videos. Apart from this, like TikTok, here too you will get the option of video speed, with the help of which you can make your video either in slow-mo or in speed. Apart from this, you will also get the option of align, so that the creator can create the video by positioning it in the right position in front of the camera. To make the video more fun, Augmented reality effects have also been provided in it.

While testing this feature in other countries, Instagram received feedback from creators that they should provide a separate place to explore Reels posts. Only after this the app has created a separate section for reels, in which you can watch reels videos of different content creators. Similar to IGTV videos, users will be given a Reels section in their app profile where all the content of the reels can be viewed.

Instagram says that it is working closely with popular content creators and public figures to increase the popularity of Reels content. When this test is rolled out, users will be able to watch videos from these content creators including Ammy Virk (33 lakh fans on TikTok), Gippy Grewal (17 lakh fans), Arjun Kanungo (15 lakh fans), Radhika Bangia (54 lakh fans) , RJ Abhinav (16 lakh fans) and Indrani Biswas aka Wonder Munna (630K subscribers on YouTube) etc.

Currently, the app is in its testing phase, however, Instagram Reels hopes that their platform will give a tough competition to TikTok alternative apps like Chingari, Mitron, Mauj, Rosoppo etc. in India. Let us tell you, after the TikTok ban in India, most of the creators had turned to Instagram.

As we told, this feature of Instagram is currently being rolled out under testing phase. There is currently no clear information regarding when this feature will be officially introduced.
