If Whatsapp violates privacy then delete the app: Delhi High Court

A hearing was held in the Delhi High Court on Monday regarding the policy update of WhatsApp in India. However, Delhi High Court refused to issue notice to WhatsApp and Facebook regarding the new policy update. A petition was filed against WhatsApp in the Delhi High Court regarding the policy update. Earlier, WhatsApp had given information regarding its policy update in India, in which it was said that it will also share WhatsApp’s data with its parrot company Facebook.

An appeal was made in the High Court regarding WhatsApp that the government should take action on the new policy of WhatsApp. In the petition, the new policy was termed as a violation of the privacy of the users. But the High Court refused to issue any notice in this matter.

Delhi High Court said in its order that WhatsApp is a private app. If anyone is facing problems due to WhatsApp’s policy or it affects the privacy of users, then he should leave it. The court has said in its order that there are many such apps with which users share their data. Even Google Maps captures users’ data. Recently, ever since WhatsApp has come out with its new policy update, it is facing strong opposition to it.

The High Court has said that if someone feels that his privacy is at risk by using WhatsApp, then he should leave this app. He may switch to some other app. In this, users are not being put under any kind of pressure. People angry with WhatsApp’s policy update are now turning to Telegram and Signal. Telegram and Signal have received several lakhs of downloads in the last few days.
