How to block your Paytm, Google Pay and Phone Pe accounts if your phone is lost or stolen

If your phone is stolen or lost somewhere, the risk of misuse of the payment apps present in the phone increases. Payment services like Paytm, Google Pay, Phone Pe and others through Unified Payments Interface (UPI) have become a necessity in India. Most of the users definitely have one of these apps on their phone which is linked to UPI. Because UPI provides a secure and easy way to make payments or transfer money to anyone. But if someone has access to your phone they can use it to transfer money. If you lose your phone or it is stolen, there are some steps you can take to prevent yourself from accessing these services.

We have prepared a step by step guide on how to block Paytm, Google Pay or Phone Pe in case your phone is lost. Which will ensure that your UPI account remains secure. You don’t have to worry about money being stolen from your account.

How to temporarily block Paytm account

1. Call Paytm Payments Bank helpline number 01204456456.
2. Select the option for lost phone.
3. Select the option to enter a different number and enter the number of your lost phone.
4. Select to log out of all devices.
5. After this go to Paytm website and scroll down to select 24×7 Help.
6. Select Report a Fraud and click on any category.
7. After this click on any issue and then click on the Message Us button at the bottom.
8. You must submit a proof of account ownership which can be a debit/credit card statement showing Paytm account transactions, a confirmation email or SMS for Paytm account transactions, proof of ownership of the phone number, or a lost or stolen A police complaint against the phone could be evidence.

Once this is done Paytm will validate and block your account, after which you will receive a confirmation message

How to block Google Pay account

1. Google Pay users can call the helpline number 18004190157 and select the preferred language.
2. Choose the correct option for other issues.
3. Opt to speak to an expert who can help you unblock your Google Play account. Alternatively, Android users can remotely wipe their data so that no one can access your Google account from the phone and hence the Google Pay app.

iOS users can do this by remotely wiping their data.

How to block Phone Pe account

1. Phone Pe users will have to call 08068727374 or 02268727374.
2. After selecting the preferred language, you will be asked if you want to report an issue with your Phone Pe account, press the appropriate number.
3. Enter the registered number and you will be sent an OTP for confirmation.
4. After this select the option of not receiving OTP.
5. You will be given the option to report your SIM or device as lost, select that.

You will then be connected with a representative who will help you block your Phone Pe account after receiving some details like phone number, email ID, last payment, value of last transaction, etc.
